3D Checkers

Welcome to Lateral Checkers, which is Checkers played on a 3D cubic board; everything else, including the rules and pieces, are an emergent component of that.  

Pieces

Checker

can move diagonally forward towards the opponent in 4 possible directions

King

can move diagonally forward and backward in 8 possible directions

Lateral King

can move diagonally forward and backward and sideways in 12 possible directions

You start with 25 Checkers on your side of the board.  

You obtain a King when a Checker reaches your opponent's side of the board.  

You obtain a Lateral King when a King reaches your own end of the board.
